Yes, different people experience the same media messages differently. Why? It's simple, people are different. Different meaning we have different social and cultural backgrounds, we are not the same gender, we are also different ages and have different interests. It's important to understand that we all see and interpret things differently. This is because if say creators of a commercial are aiming for a specific ago group they need to make sure it applies to that age group. We need to know how to make people's different views agree on the same thing. So we can tell that they are getting the message.
The movie we watched was somewhat infuriating to me. I understand that people have their reason why they hate America but what bothered me was the ignorant people who don't know what it is like here just spat out an opinion that was outrageous. I did see some extreme poverty and America was doing nothing about it except putting a highway through their land that no one told them it was coming. That kind of made me think that America was acting like the bad guy. I think the producers did do it right. They interviewed people in countries everywhere. Which included good perceptions and negative perceptions of America. I think all and all it was a well documented film.
